The legendary Gibson J-185 first made its debut in 1951. It was crafted to be somewhat smaller compared to the larger SJ-200, but it featured similar design elements, using Sitka spruce and maple for the back and sides. The Custom Historic 1952 J-185 model boasts a thermally aged Sitka spruce top along with stunning flame maple back and sides. It retains the classic J-185 features, such as the distinctive Maltese cross inlays made of mother-of-pearl on the open slot bridge, making it a sought-after model among artists and performers globally.
